Here’s a quick run down of what might be appropriate for the newsletter;
Pretty much anything I find interesting. Although pre-1960 topics which involve America, will be favored.
Personally, I think this is a very good idea and I’m happy to do this for up to 3 Substack newsletters each Sunday.
It’s a guarantee that you will make it on a Sunday Line Up if you RECOMMEND this newsletter in Substack.
Of course, I will reciprocate.
2-3 newsletters with a short intro is just enough to keep the email limit at bay.

Back in December (2024), I, along with about 10 other Substackers, were approached by Murray Mintz to be part of a Christmas Movie Review edition of Substack newsletters.
I thought it was a great idea and happily added a review to the list.

We each mailed out the film guide to our lists and had fun doing it. Some of us also noticed a little bump in subscribership after we did so. There was talk of us putting together a guide every Christmas season.
Since then, I have often thought of how I could help to keep this going on a regular basis.
Once a year just wasn’t enough.

Here’s a quick run down of what might be appropriate for the newsletter;
Anything Old Hollywood related
American interests and hobbies related to anything before 1960
Reviews of movies and TV shows which ran before 1960
American history dated pre-1960 - It can be world history as long as the US was heavily involved.
Pretty much anything pre-1960 which involves America. It doesn’t have to be Old Hollywood related per se, but if you can connect it somehow all the better.
Eg. The military experience of famous stars such as Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. etc.
I created a cover as an example of the type of graphics I would include in the newsletter.
This issue will be promoted on my social media channels along with other types of marketing.
It certainly beats requests for mutual subscribes, right?
